Oooh...that smarts!
Lucy made her scheduled visit to the Doctor's place today.
For those keeping score, she's up to 9 lbs., 10 oz. (25th percentile) and 22 1/2 inches long (60th percentile). Soon, she'll be as big as her mutant cousin Josiah was at birth (10 lbs. 13 oz, 24")!
I love going to the doctor because it's so educational. Evidently baby reflux is highly genetic. So when my Abuela tells stories of how I used to be a river of vomit when I was a newborn, it has something to do with how many burp cloths we go through in a day with Lucy.
The big event at our two month checkup is the start of Lucy's immunization schedule. We don't like subjecting our little girl to pain, so to cope with the emotional trauma I took a bunch of pictures.
She didn't seem to mind everything at first. She just quietly sat there checking out the camera and the nice nurse with the green hands.
Here's the moment of truth, the first shot going in. That look pretty much says it all.
Then her whole world fell apart. Unfortunately, she had four more to go. Needless to say she wasn't a big fan of the doctor's office anymore.
Here's the progression a little more up-close.
Still, she soldiered on and made it through the whole thing ok. She was calmed down to her normal self by the time we got home. She may be cranky, but at least we don't have to worry about her getting polio anymore.
P.S. - Jenny wanted me to mention that she's also 50th percentile in head size. I'm wondering if her noggin will ever catch up to her 99th percentile eyeballs...

That is priceless!
Meany -- you should have been holding her.
She is soooo cute! I have just Got to see her again soon! I can't wait for Lucy and Kate to play together! ~Amy (Bartlett)Bonner
Awww I can't believe you took pictures of that, William! Poor baby. You guys are all alike -- focusing on the polio aspect. At the moment the girls first got their shots, I think I would have opted for polio.
