William and Lucy's Weekend of Fun!
It's been a long winter for the Atlanta Conways. First, it's been extremely cold. Lucy was sick for most of February, and at the end of last month all of her teeth decided to come out at the same time (usually at night).
So when I heard Josiah was having a birthday party at my Mom's I decided to pack the little one up and give Jenny some much needed peace and quiet (and sleep). Thus began our first ever father-daughter Weekend of Fun (WoF).
We started the WoF at Home Depot. My Mom signed us up for one of their "kids clinics", where we got to put together a wooden race track.
She has some catching up to do though, because those Newsomes can swing a mean hammer. Alister can pound nails better than I can (I'm not kidding).
Here are the two newest associates at the Easley Home Depot.
Lucy really enjoyed Josiah's party, especially the inflatable moonwalk in my parents' back yard. I don't have any pics because she wouldn't hold still long enough to take a good one. She bounced for 4 hours (still not kidding)! Needless to say, she slept well Saturday night.
We got home on Sunday, and the weather was so beautiful that we just had to fire up the grill and eat out on the patio. Jenny surprised us both by getting Lucy a little grill setup of her own.
I'm so proud!
If you're wondering about the story behind my grill, it's a gift from my new job. After a short stay at LifeSync, I was offered a job at In Zone, a company based near my house. They make insulated beverage containers, sport bottles, sippy-cups, coolers and charcoal kamado grills.
I'm really excited to be at my new company. The people here are very cool, and the product line is right up my alley.
Here's a shot of me supervising Lucy and telling her she's doing it all wrong. She just couldn't keep her plastic meat from falling on the ground (bad form), and then she insisted on grilling rocks from the backyard. I told her no amount of low and slow cooking would tenderize river stones, but she wouldn't listen.
