Working on the Nursery

Before I met Jenny, I was a major procrastinator. Now I find myself moving boxes out of the second bedroom and putting furniture together 3 months before the baby is born. (In all honesty I'm still a major procrastinator, but Jenny wanted to get started. What can I say? Happy wife = happy life.)

Yaya and Yoyo (my Mom and Dad's grandparental alter-egos, for those of you who aren't in the know) just gave the baby his crib, so assembling it was an excellent way to use a Friday evening!

All told the crib was pretty easy to put together. Actually, it was a little too easy. I expected a tedious labor of love for my unborn child, and instead I got a 4 minute construction project that I could have completed during a commercial break for Feasting on Asphalt. Oh well, maybe I'll go make the baby a canoe or something.

Hopefully having such a nice bed will lead to our baby sleeping through the night and leaving us well-rested. Yeah right.

Getting things set up for the baby is my favorite thing about being pregnant. I'd pack for the hospital now if I didn't need my clothes for the next three weeks.

That is a lovely crib. Why didn't you get a dark cherry one like the rest of your furniture?

If the baby doesn't sleep all night, Yaya and Yoyo would be glad to take "sweet pea" out of your hands!!!! We don't care how long a nap you guys would want to take.

Okay, just had to laugh at the sleeping through the night comment. Good luck :) If peanut sleeps through the night, you'll have to teach me your trick.
