Painting the Nursery

Last weekend Jenny, The Kid and I were thrilled to receive two new pieces of furniture from Yoyo (aka, my Dad)! He made a tall dresser and a smaller night stand to compliment our baby's dresser. Both pieces are gorgeous!

Well having a room full of beautiful furniture was just too much for Jenny and I to bear, so we decided to paint the nursery. We'll be sticking around here for just a bit longer, so it made sense to jazz the room up just a bit.

In keeping with our surprise, we went with a gender-neutral green. We only had to go to the paint store four times before we decided on which specific green to use. I don't mind. I guess it's better than painting the room four times.

Don't worry folks, the paint is pretty low-odor so Jenny was fine painting. I risked life and limb to take all the high jobs. Jenny is top-heavy enough as it is.

It is still funny to me that we have a whole room just for someone the size of a sack of potatoes. Our baby will weigh about 7-8 lbs. (approximately) when he decides to show himself and he's living in a room that's 12'x12'. I weigh a hair over 200 pounds, which means that my room should have basketball goals at each end, right?

Anyway, the end result is awesome! The room has a nice, calm vibe to it, perfect for play time, nap time (I hope), and the all-too-frequent diaper change. Once we're done decorating we'll post pictures of the finished room.

Thanks William, I don't think you could have picked a worse picture of me. At least you got a chance to shower and brush your hair.

I think you look adorable Jenny! And the green looks nice too. I can't wait to see what the nursery looks like when it's all put together.

That green looks really familiar...

Distant Mountain maybe?

Very cheerful. Peanut will love it.
But not as much as we love him. Loved that furniture your dad made. It's a perfect match.

May I just add that if you think peanut will contain his/her belongings in one room, you're insane. Soon you'll realize that this "7 or 8 lbs baby" will be all over your entire house. We are now having to replace furniture with toys and swings. Get ready :)
